Regions and Availability Zones
Region refers to a physical data center. The region cannot change after the resource created successfully. Availability Zones are physical areas in the same region where power and network are independent. Less network latency between instances in the same Availability Zone.
Intranet interconnection between availability zones and availability zones within the same region enables fault isolation between availability zones. Whether to place instances in the same availability zone depends on your disaster tolerance and network latency. If your application requires high disaster tolerance, you'd better deploy instances in different availability zones in the same region. If your application requires low network latency between instances, we recommend that you create it in the same Availability Zone.
