Creat snapshots

Restrictions

  • When using an instance to create a snapshot, the instance must be powered on, and the instance state cannot be changed during the snapshot creation process.
  • Only one snapshot is allowed to be created on a disk.
  • Snapshots are deleted following the deletion of the created host or hard disk.

    Steps

    Creat a snapshot with an instance
  • Sign in to the console.
  • On the left navigation bar, select "Product" - "Instances".
  • Find the target instance and enter the instance details page.
  • On the instance page, click tab "snapshots"
  • Choose "resource", then enter a snapshot name, click "Take snapshot" to complete the creation. Creating snapshots with hard disks
  • Sign in to the console.
  • On the left navigation bar, select "Product" - "Block Storage".
  • Find the target instance and enter the instance details page.
  • Click "Create" in the Actions menu.
  • Enter the snapshot name in the pop-up box and click "Submit" to complete the creation. There is another way to create a snapshot with a hard disk, it is the same to the steps to create a snapshot with an instance.

Manage snapshots

View Snapshot

  • View the snapshots associated with this instance through the snapshots tab on the instance details page.
  • Go to the left navigation bar and select "Product" - "Snapshots" to view the list of snapshots.

Rollback with snapshots

  • With the above steps, select the target snapshot and operate "Rollback".
  • In the pop-up box, click "Submit" to complete the rollback.

Create an image with a system disk snapshot

  • Go through the steps above to view the snapshot, select the target system disk snapshot, and operate "Create Custom Image".
  • Enter the custom image name and description in the pop-up dialog box, and click "Submit" to complete the creation.

Creating a hard disk with snapshots

  • Sign in to the console.
  • On the left navigation bar, select "Product" - "Block Storage".
  • Click the "Add" button in the upper right corner.
  • Complete the appropriate information on the creation page, and check the "size" option to create a snapshot.
  • In the pop-up dialog box, select the target snapshot and click "Submit".
  • Click "Submit" on the creation page to complete the drive creation.
